Here is what our newest addition looked like on August 4.
I planned to tell Derek the big news by taking him to his favorite Asian restaurant - Zen Zero. I made a special fortune cookie with the message "Confucius says you are destined to be a father. Lucky Date: March 26, 2009." (click here to see the fortune up close) I was so excited when the waiter brought the check with the cookies. Derek cracked his cookie open, gave me a weird look, and said nothing about his fortune! I was prepared for him not to get it so I broke out the stand by gift – a bitty Patagonia t-shirt. After looking at the shirt for a minute, it clicked and he broke out into a big grin.
