The Lawrence Municipal Airport celebrated its 40th anniversary with an open house and paper airplane contest sponsored by the local newspaper. Uncle Miles helped Jack, Ella, and Liliana build their newspaper planes.
Derek and Julietta looked up suitable flight plans.
Liliana's plane took off with such a gusto that it didn't make it very far.
Ella's made it a little further (look for the blur in the middle right of the photo above).
Jack's flew even further before it's nose dive (see it in full nose dive mode above).
After the contest the children bounced in the funhouse.
